Enjoying Some Outside Time

The girls are making the most of every "snow-free minute" that we have left here in Alaska! They are taking their daddy to the park nearly everyday!


They even took Grammy & Pop Pop one night!

All Dressed Up for Canadian Thanksgiving

We celebrated Canadian Thanksgiving with the Campbell Crew again this year. It was wonderful to be with family and to be thankful for so many wonderful things in our life!

Fall Has Arrived in ALASKA!

Avrey & Quynn have been enjoying the fall leaves.

They love to throw them up and let them fall down all around them.

We even have a song we sing (to the tune of The Farmer in the Dell):

Big Girl Table!

Quynn has graduated from her high chair to the big girl table with Avrey! She loves sitting with her big sis. She loves eating off of a big girl plate and using her big girl fork and spoon. Mostly though, she loves eating her big sister's food!

'Aa' for Avrey Week at Preschool

This week it was 'Aa' week at Lemon Tree Preschool. Avrey kept calling it 'Aa for Avrey' week. Avrey looked carefully through the house for items beginning with the letter 'Aa'. She found an airplane, an apple, a book with an Azure butterfly, and of course Ariel (the Little Mermaid). So Avrey and Mama made a special snack to share with the class... apple cupcakes. YUMMY!!!

Okay - I'm Back! I just couldn't miss posting this...

Avrey's first day of preschool was on Wednesday (Sept. 7th). When I arrived to pick her up she yelled "Mom! I LOVE School!"

She told me that she finger-painted, planted a Venus Fly Trap, sang an alphabet song, played in the kitchen area, had circle and calendar time, listened to a story, and played outside.

So here she is my precious little preschooler...

Taking A Break

I am taking an official break and some time off from blogging.

I have been enjoying spending time with my girls and husband a lot lately and that is how life should be.

This blog is a hobby and one I really enjoy but right now I need to focus on the people I love.

I will be back soon but until then... I hope you enjoy the rest of the summer :)

Sprinkler Fun in the Alaskan Sun

It was 80 degrees in some parts of Anchorage yesterday. Hot! Hot! Hot! Avrey and her friends, Jossie and Haven, played barbies on the deck and ate popsicles.
Then Granny asked the girls if they wanted to run through the sprinkler at her house. The girls put on their swimsuits and were ready for some fun!
Granny put the sprinkler in her driveway. A pool of warm water gathered in one of the frost heaves and the girls used it as a hot tub.
Haven created some vibrant chalk art.
Quynn looked so cute in her swimsuit splashing around in the water.
Smiles were abundant and giggles could be heard throughout the neighborhood.
The pavement was so hot Quynn would race from the puddle over to the towel to keep her feet cool.
Quynn enjoyed sneaking under Jossie's chair and playing peek-a-boo with her.
Just before it was time to go Granny brought out popsicles - it was the perfect way to spend a hot summer day!

McHugh Creek Hike

Before Maggie headed home to Alberta we wanted to show her some spectacular Alaskan scenery. We took her on a beautiful hike up McHugh Creek that overlooks the Turnagain Arm and the Chugach mountain range.
This is the view from the trail head where the hike begins.
On the way up we stopped for a photo by the creek.
About half way up we stopped to ooooh and aaaah - the ocean was amazing!
Toward the top we did some mountain goat climbing.
Here is the view from the top.
Back down at the bottom we found our way over to the waterfall and felt its' refreshing spray.
It was a beautiful day and a breath-taking hike.
