Winter Wonderland

We are THANKFUL for Daddy - he takes us sledding. Mom thinks he may have needed some exercise because he ate too many helpings of mashed potatoes and gravy yesterday. Since it snowed all day it was like sledding in a Winter Wonderland.

Pink vs. Pilgrim

Thanksgiving Day this year was filled with family, fun, and delicious food!

We rarely stick to the fashion rules so we went with a more pink palette than a pilgrim (brown, black, gray) one...


I think my girls make pink look good and I am so thankful for my little Quynncess and her Big Sisoo!

Thirty days until Christmas and we can't wait!

Avrey's 1st Sleepover

Avrey had her friend Katie stay the night last Friday.

It was Avrey's first sleepover and she was very excited.

The girls acted out the movie 'Barbie & the Three Musketeers', danced to 'Mama Mia' songs all night long, went sledding, drank hot cocoa, drew pretty pictures, and giggled a lot.

Now Avrey can't wait to have a second sleepover!

Getting Too Big for Her Britches

Quynn is learning to do all kinds of things lately...
She can sit up.

She can get up on all "fours" and rock back and forth.
She can even do 'donkey kicks' with her back legs and the 'downward dog' yoga pose.

Quynn has had spurts of three to four crawls but no consistent crawling yet (which is just fine with Mama - things are moving way too fast this time around).

A Fun-Filled Halloween Weekend

We began the weekend by making a Chocolate Haunted House as a family on Saturday morning.
Grammy bought us the kit and we were very excited to get creative.
Quynn watched as Avrey, Mommy, and Daddy decorated.
Avrey found out how much fun it was to eat the candy instead of use it for decorating purposes.
We were all very proud of how our haunted house turned out. The best part was eating the house afterward and walking around with jet black teeth and lips from the icing.
Then we got dressed up and went trick-or-treating downtown. Quynn dressed up as a Pump-Quynn.
Avrey dressed up like a black cat and carried around her McDonald's candy bucket. She would not say "trick-or-treat" instead she just held up her bucket and said "please".
Lastly we went to the Captain Cook Hotel and decorated Halloween cookies - Yum!

On Sunday we dressed up again, this time Avrey was Alice in Wonderland, then we went to a Halloween party and trick-or-treating to a few special houses (Granny's, Grammy's, and Annette's).
Granny gave Avrey a very special Halloween package with ghost and pumpkin lollipops. What a wonderful Granny!
Granny also sent Quynn her first Halloween card. Quynn loved it so much; she chewed on it for hours (thank goodness Hallmark cards are good quality or the card would have been torn to shreds).
Our last stop was at Grammy and Pop Pop's. Grammy gave Avrey, Mommy, and Daddy special Halloween treat bags and then we took pictures with the Jack-o-lantern that Avrey and Pop Pop carved.
What a wonderful Halloween weekend!
We can't wait until next year. Avrey already has her costume picked out - she wants to be a Musketeer!
