C-A-N-A-D-A eh?

After our Michigan vacation we flew straight to Canada to visit Mommy's family.

The first thing we did was meet at Whitney Lake for dinner (in Canada, it's called "supper" ) and dipped our toes in the water.
Later that week, we held a belated reception for Mommy and Daddy's marriage. It was fun to meet all of my aunts, uncles, and many cousins.

After the party Jena and Keeleigh came to Grandma's house to stay with us while Maggie was away at church camp. We had so much fun!

We went swimming at the pool.
We played with sidewalk chalk.
We painted everyone's toe nails and finger nails (even Grandpa's).
We jumped through the sprinkler (it was really HOT).
Some other fun things that we did in Canada...

Rode the waterslides!
Put on a 'Grumpy Princess Play'.
Visited Vegreville (a large Ukranian settlement, hence the massive Ukranian Easter egg).
Mommy says that the warm summer sun sure helped us grow...
The last part of our visit was very EXCITING because Auntie Leith and Uncle Nathan had their baby. It was a little girl and they named her Harper!
Can't wait to see Baby Harper again at Christmas time.

Michigan Vacation

We went to Michigan at the beginning of July to meet Grammy's family. She has eleven siblings, which means a bunch of aunts, uncles, and cousins for us to play with!
We stayed in a beach house that was about fifty yards from Lake Michigan. We loved the warm water and playing in the sun-kissed sand.
Mommy liked walking the beach with Avrey and helping her find cool treasures like feathers and sticks.
Daddy taught Avrey how to jump the waves and enjoyed scaring Mommy half to death by throwing her WAY UP HIGH in the air and then catching her just before she hit the water (while Avrey giggled the entire time).

Quynn went to the beach too. She even went into the water a few times but mostly she slept because it was pretty hot!

We loved meeting all our Walenga relatives (although we don't yet have any photographs to share with you) and we had a blast at Lake Michigan. Can't wait to visit again!

Ballet Lessons

We have been very busy with ballet lessons this week.

On Sunday we went to Target and bought my ballet outfit. There were a ton of pink ones and only one blue one to choose from. I chose...
On Monday we went to ballet class but I was a little shy. I spent most of the class just watching the other girls dance. I did meet a friend though. You are not going to believe it but... her name is Avery and she has a baby sister Quinn too! We spell our names a little differently though.

On Tuesday, the second day of ballet class, Mama and Daddy were so proud of me for trying my best, listening to the teacher, and participating the entire time.

I actually practiced being brave and a few ballet moves out in the hall before class on Tuesday.


During ballet class I am learning to twirl the ribbon baton in circles.
I am also learning to lean toward the bar.
I can't wait to dance some more on Wednesday and Thursday!

Avrey's Favorite Music Video

Avrey's 3rd Birthday

We partied 'Princess Style!' Here are the really fun things that we did at my princess party...

We wore princess dresses. My party gown looked just like the Disney Mermaid Princess Ariel (she is my favorite princess)!
We decorated party crowns. I chose to put an assortment of pretty princess stickers on my pink crown. We also wore candy necklaces (that's the best kind of jewelry - the edible kind) and fancy stick-on earrings (mine are hard to see but they are beautiful light pink jewels).
We ate pizza (it starts with 'P' like princess) and watermelon (it is pink like all pretty princess accessories).

The food was very tasty and I think it is safe to say "enjoyed by all!"

We had our faces' painted by Dulce (Her name is pronounced "Dull-say." Mommy met her at the Saturday Market downtown last weekend). Dulce does a wonderful job of painting colorful face creations. She was a really big hit with all the party princesses.

Even Daddy and Pop Pop got their faces painted! Oooooooooooh... SCARY!
We decorated cupcakes too. Mommy put pink or purple icing on them according to individual princess preference and then we decorated the cupcakes with a variety of candy treats - YUMMY!
Lastly we opened presents, handed out goody bags, said goodbye to all the pretty princesses...
AND FELL INTO A REALLY DEEP SLEEP (just like Sleeping Beauty)!

It was a Perfect Princess Party!
